Quinta Mazatlan Schoolyard Forest

​The Schoolyard Forest initiative is underway following the successful groundbreaking ceremonies and is set to transform seven McAllen elementary schools into vibrant outdoor learning environments. Supported by a Texas A&M Forest Service grant and developed in partnership with Quinta Mazatlan, the project emphasizes the importance of nature-based education by providing students with hands-on learning experiences that foster environmental stewardship and enrich academic engagement. Through thoughtful planning and design, these outdoor spaces will offer children of all ages engaging, interactive, and sustainable environments that support both learning and well-being.
