Construction is underway. We gave a facelift to this existing home located in the Dominion neighborhood in NW San Antonio. The design aesthetic of this residence is Hill Country Pop Art. Large scale abstract sculpture, masses of bright blooms, and a variety of stone materials combine to create a the client’s dream home. Follow us to see how this project develops.
This optometrist office has never looked better! We capitalized on the buildings new paint colors by adding tiered cor-ten steel planters and native plants that reflect the South Texas spirit. Significant grade changes provided a design opportunity for added interest and make this business a community landmark. This project also has built in value by reducing maintenance and water use without sacrificing beauty.
The design for the front garden of this residence focuses on a layering of plant material to soften the courtyard wall, focus your view on the main entrance, and balance the house volume. The courtyard features a pergola and water feature surrounded by palm trees, topiary, and cacti for a modern twist. The combination of dappled shade, falling water, and sweet scents create a wonderful sensory experience. We always strive to create a design that results in the best house on the block! ⠀
The construction on this custom-built French country style home is complete. Classic design elements include geometric shapes, neatly trimmed hedges, gravel and paver pathways, and a simple but elegant color scheme. Crape myrtle, Japanese blueberry, Italian cypress, and waxleaf ligustrum were a few of the trees incorporated into the landscape beds that offer freeze hardy vertical elements. The courtyards include water and fire features that add a touch of romance and evokes the feeling of the French countryside.
Spray on some SPF100 because this project is HOT! Escape from the snow, ice, and utility interruptions by day dreaming about this new multi-family development that features a wide variety of outdoor spaces. The pool is surrounded by lounge areas that offer both sun and shade. Grilling stations that offer outdoor cooking options are adjacent to greenspace for the kids to run off some steam. A refined material palette consists of specimen palm trees, native pollinator and tropical plants, SYNLawn artificial turf, Trex decking, raw concrete, and deep blue water. Who's ready for a dip in the pool?
The City of Elsa EDC has tasked us with the design of their 22 acre landmark park project. This linear park is located in the heart of Elsa and will be developed on the former Union Pacific Railroad grounds. This park will feature a splash pad, a volleyball court, trails, and a variety of unique elements that will enhance the outdoor experience of all nearby residents. Once the park is completed it will provide a valuable recreational resource for the residents of the neighborhood and will galvanize the value of the homes in the area. We continue to work in tandem with City staff members and the grant management team to provide a plan that meets the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department requirements and the City’s needs. We look forward to this project moving from the current design phase to the bidding and construction phases.
Benvenuto! This Italian villa features a guest house, an orchard, a vineyard, a chicken garden, courtyards, pools, patios and fountains that are all connected with a series of whimsical pathways. The perfect combination of olive trees, clipped hedges, cypress trees, and stone provide an idyllic setting to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature.
Who needs to travel when your backyard looks like this?! A beautiful home and swimming pool have been elevated by adding the right furniture, outdoor kitchen, walkways, pergola, and plantings. The custom pergola and wall treatments add just enough detail to make this small space feel much larger. These clients are ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy their very own sanctuary.
Get outside this weekend and enjoy some fresh air! We developed some interpretive and wayfinding signage for the City of San Benito's famous Heavin Resaca Trail. This outdoor recreational element is one of the most well used in the City. The trail winds through historical landmarks and along beautiful resacas (inland oxbow lakes) that are teeming with a wide variety of bird species. Life's better outside!
We have been working hard over the past six months to create an estate in the European style. A series of outdoor rooms that are perfect for leisure, entertaining, sport, and culture fill the grounds with limitless opportunities. We added an event lawn, labyrinth, sculpture garden, sports lawn, motor court, fountains, and playgrounds to the existing main house, guest house, and outdoor dining. We mixed classic European design themes like symmetry and framing views with a modern plant palette, a range of local materials, and a bit of fun!
